I was over the moon when BossBabes ATX, one of my favorite groups in town, invited me to speak at WORK: A Pop-Up Conference for Creatives and Entrepreneurs this July. Earlier this year, I had emailed the nonprofit seven ideas for talks, and they liked one I inevitably branded as “Working Big While Being Small.” Knowing that there would be anywhere from 50 to 100 people in the room, I thought it would be fun (and less intimidating) to co-lead the talk with a friend. The best woman for the job was friend and fellow solopreneur Richelle Ouellette of Alchemy Events. Together, we came up with a presentation that shared how we’ve making strategic hires so we can do the best job while being nimble.
